There’s something about the raw quality of sketches that I really enjoy. Especially when there’s a time limit cause I have to commit to every line I do. These were sketched for seven, fifteen, and thirty minutes at Dr. Sketchy’s, a themed live sketch event. Tonight’s theme was sci-fi.
Character designs from the stories I’ve illustrated so far. I think the last one’s a combo breaker.
In another section of Moose tries to animate. I wanted to try animating subtle gestures. Everything’s wobbly, but I’m still pretty happy with it.
One day I’d love to have a tattoo that looks like it’s been applied with watercolor. I need to find an awesome artist for that though, and think long and hard about what kind of design I want and if I’ll end up regretting it or not.
Another storybook illustration I worked on a couple of months ago. I’ve been itching to share this, and finally it’s out! Written by Leroy Jackson from the Peter Patter Book of Nursery Rhymes, It’s about a sassy butterfly and a girl flirting with each other in the forest. You can download FarFaria to read it here.
